A historic bookstore reinterpreted as a place for reading, browsing, learning and exchange through integrated spatial and display systems.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This team project proposes an interior environment for an ancient bookstore on Fuzhou Road in Shanghai. The design process examines historical context, user groups, activity patterns and the spatial needs of reading, browsing, study and communication.
The proposal organises the bookstore through a sequence of functional areas and treats bookshelves and displays as an integrated spatial system. My contribution focused on interior rendering and communicating the final proposal through the portfolio layout.
